The Sisters

1883

99 x 151 mm

The artist created this unfinished work in his London studio in 1883. The watercolour "Systrarna" (320 x 390 mm) from 1882, which he painted himself, served as a model.

At this time, Zorn was strongly inspired by Egron Lundgren (1815 - 1875) in his painting technique and also in his choice of compositions. Zorn himself described Lundgren as the most important role model of his youth.
